Now you can backup all the emails from your gmail account in your hard disk using   this small software. Many of them will have a question in their mind, why would i backup my emails when gmail already providing mass mailbox space in GB’s. Well, your email might contain some useful and valuable information which you don’t want to keep  on the internet as it could be accessed incase your account gets hacked. Also, another advantage is to read all the saved email’s offline. So, you don’t have to login every time and wait for the pages and attachments to load which may take a lot of time.

In order to backup emails you have to activate the IMAP to your mailbox.

Go to gmail settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > Enable IMAP > Save changes.

All the emails will  be saved in EML formats which can be viewed in Outlook Express. You can further import those emails to other email clients

Now, backup all your important mails, files or attachments on your hard drive or burn those on your CD/DVD permanently.
