Folder Protector a tiny freeware to password protect your folders. A powerful and easy-to-use program for File Encryption. It can hide/encrypt any folder including Flash disk and Removable disk.

It uses 3 methods: Lock, Scramble and Encrypt Folder depending on the security level you need. Drive Firewall allows you to protect your data from virus and other bad software.

Protected files are totally hidden and locked, undeletable, unmovable and totally inaccessible.

A strong industry standard 256-bit BLOWFISH Encryption is used to encrypt your files.

If you just want to password protect the folder(lock/unlock) the current version will solve your purpose. You need to register only for future updates and customer support for the software, which is not really necessary as its a simple and bug free version. There are many freewares for the same, Please check the Related Posts link at the the end of the post. If you don’t wish to use any software try this manual method http://www.snakebytez.com/2008/11/03/lock-folders-in-windows-without-software/ it’s not actually locking but making the folder and folder name invisible.

I’m afraid my comments were too rude and I apologise. You’re right – my mistake was clicking on the direct link to the software website. I should have known, this same thing has happened to me before – no freeware version offered at developer’s site!
