How to Split, Join or Clip AVI files?

October 16th, 2009

starting

Ok, it happens often that you want to split large AVI file into smaller files, maybe you want to split the large DVD file into small 700MB files to fit in your CD’s or clip a specific scene from a video, etc. There are many softwares available on the net to split, join or Clip large AVI/DivX files. Most of these applications are either trialware or difficult to use.

AviSplit is the simple solution for this. It can split a large AVI file into more convenient pieces (you set the size), rejoin those pieces or extract a clip with a specified starting and ending point.

Whether pieces or a clip, Avisplit output can be viewed in any standard player, and when the pieces are recombined, the result is exactly the same as the original.

Whether splitting, rejoining or clipping, very fast as no data processing is involved (lossless). Generally, using Avisplit is about as fast as copying the file itself.
