Hide Windows Drives with NoDrives Manager

December 24th, 2009

nodrivesHave a drive you’d like to keep hidden? No Drives Manager removes drives from the Windows Explorer, so casual users can’t see what you’re aiming to keep private.

NoDrives Manager lets you hide drives from Windows Explorer. The drive is still accessible to Windows, technically, and you could access it from the run dialogue or from the command line, but it won’t appear to non-invasive users on your machine.

While many people would discount this as a tool only suited for a lame attempt at hiding your porn stash, It can be used to view the drives which are really in use. This would be handy to hide/protect secondary drives or any external drives which you use to backup data and keep them safe from being tinkered by casual users.

Do you have an easier way of doing this? We would love to hear about it in the comments, come on don’t be shy!
