KDE on Microsoft Windows

KDE is desktop environment originally designed for UNIX. But now it’s available for Windows too. Download the installer from the Windows KDE site, using the installer you can download various binary files that you will need to run all the KDE packages.

KDE is totally free and open source, so you can built all the applications like Amarok, Koffice, Kopete, K3b,  etc.. the way you want from their source code. If you are not much into coding stuff you can download the pre-compiled applications created by the volunteers which are easily available on internet.

Codecs Pack for Windows 7

Windows media player usually play only common formats like wmv,mpe, etc. hence you need different players and codec packs to run all those files which windows media player cannot. However, the Windows Media player 12 Version in Windows 7 operating system have included some audio/video extension support but still unable to play some files. Shark007.net has released a codecs pack for Windows 7 called Win7codecs using which one can play all the major file formats on Windows 7.

Just by typing “msconfig” (without quotes) in Start > Run window the System configuration utility can be launched. Then you an disable unwanted Startup programs like MSN messenger, Nerocheck, Quicktime start applications, etc making your PC boot faster. Process Manager for Windows is a free program using which u can set the priority levels of the open windows on your desktop by just right clicking on that task in the taskbar. Delete Undeletable files like Trojan or Virus Files

Can also delete files like the “index.dat” files, which store Internet history, by scheduling them for deletion upon system restart.
