Google, recently rolled out a new interface for image search. The new one is pretty stylish and admired by most, but many, like me would like to stick to the old classic version.
People working on slow internet will find this troublesome as it will take much time to load. Here is a simple solution for those epic Firefox users who would like to revert back to the old image search.
- In the Firefox and Epic URL bar, type “about:config” and press Enter.
- Filter and find the attribute “general.useragent.extra.firefox” entry, right click it and click on modify.
- Replace the value to “Mozilla/2.0″
- Click the “OK” button to close.
- Google image search will now open with the old interface.
NOTE 1: To reset, right-click the “general.useragent.extra.firefox” line and choose “Reset”.
NOTE2: Firefox update is likely to overwrite the above-described change. Therefore after installing an update, simply repeat the above steps.

Thanks for this… Well done for the clear detail (unlike another site)… However, as at August 28, you need to make a correction from -
“Mozilla/2.0?.
to this -
“Mozilla/2.0?”

@Mickey You’re welcome and thank you for bringing that to notice, i have corrected that
It might also be worth mentioning that this amendment can impact on other sites that use later versions of firefox.
e.g. Yahoo email will not show the newest format but will show its’ “classic” (older) version. There could wellbe others.
