As more and more malwares resort to ‘autorun.inf’ file tactics, there has been a need for a tool to stop running .exe files automatically from drives, especially for new users who unaware of this. Of course, there are other ways to avoid the ‘autorun.inf’ malware trap such as right-clicking-explore, but how many are actually aware of such a method. Alternatively,  you can delete the file through DOS by using the delete command.

Autorun Eater will remove any suspicious ‘autorun.inf’ files even before the user attempts to access the drive. These files are auto-backup’ed in case of false positives.

Autorun Eater is NOT an anti-virus nor does it pretend to be one. Autorun Eater is meant to work side-by-side with your AV application. so, next time you connect and infected pen drive to your PC you can delete the autorun.inf file and protect your machine from getting infected.
